Free event offers practical support on safeguarding employees’ mental health

Tim Watson

BUSINESSES across East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire can get support with safeguarding the mental health and wellbeing of employees at a free event next month.
Organised by Emmerson Kitney and SG Financial Recruitment, and developed in partnership with Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, Inspire Ignite and Think Cloud, it will feature fascinating talks from local experts, ranging from mental health basics to practical advice on looking after your people.
As well as helping attendees to understand how businesses can do this, the event will explore why it should be high on employers’ agendas, from the wellbeing of the individual to the benefits for their organisation.
The event will be held at the Village Hotel in Hull from 8.30am to 10.30am on Thursday, November 14.

Tim Watson, Commercial Director at Emmerson Kitney, said: “Mental health is an incredibly important topic in the modern workplace but it can be a difficult one for businesses to navigate.
“This event will enable businesses of all shapes and sizes to understand why they need strategies for safeguarding employees’ mental health and will offer some practical steps that they can take immediately to ensure their wellbeing.”

The speakers at the event will be as follows:

  • Lorraine Hamilton, Training Co-ordinator, Hull and East Yorkshire Mind: Attitudes to Mental Health and How They Affect Your Business
  • Leon McQuade, Co-Founder of Think Cloud: Mental Health and the Effect of Technology in the Workplace
  • Sue Altass, Co-Founder of Inspire Ignite: Getting the Best Out of Your Workforce by Understanding Emotional Intelligence

People attending the event will also be offered free access to a choice of tools for their business or organisation, including a free digital wellbeing healthcheck, mental health assessment or an emotional intelligence assessment. Conditions apply.
