Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards see Grimsby-based firm soak up two trophies

THE Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce brought Northern Lincolnshire businesses together for an evening of celebration and fun, brilliantly overcoming the challenges created by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards celebrated the successes and achievements of local companies with a live Awards Evening where sponsors, nominees and guests attended virtually. Once “there” guests found themselves on a bespoke awards platform where they could network freely and speak to people they had not seen for several months.

It was a great night for Grimsby-based Technical Absorbents Ltd which scooped two awards, the Phillips66 International Trade Award and the top accolade of the night, the Forrester Boyd Business of the Year Award.

The Chamber's North East Lincolnshire Chair, Michael O’Flynn, commented: “It has been an honour on behalf of the Chamber and the sponsors to be able to present Technical Absorbents Ltd with not one, but two trophies to recognise their considerable and ongoing achievements.

"We would like to offer Technical Absorbents Ltd our sincere congratulations.”

Local celebrities Richard Askam and Lloyd Griffith hosted the evening, entertaining guests with their humour and wit.

Catering for the event was provided by Healing Manor with hampers and supper boxes being delivered around the county to help guests get into the swing of the Black Tie evening.  Steve Bennett of Healing Manor entertained guests at the event with a demonstration of just how the canapés kit, contained in the catering, should actually be put together

Healing Manor kindly gave out a prize to the “Best Dressed Canape”.  Not to be outdone the Chamber gave prizes for “Best Dressed Lady and Gentleman”.

There was also a billiant performance by The Grimsby institute of Performing Arts.

Of course the highlight of the evening was the Awards Presentation and below is a table showing the outright winners and equal runners-up on the evening for the 2020 Awards. You can read more about Technical Absorbents Ltd here.

The Chamber sends thanks to all the sponsors who have been so supportive in ensuring the event could continue on in these difficult times and congratulations to all our winners and runners-up.
