Membership, Marketing and Policy Support Officer

We are looking for an enthusiastic, versatile, well-rounded self-starter with a can-do attitude who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in to a diverse range of activities.
Based at our Hull head office, you’ll bring strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the confidence to build relationships at all levels. A genuine interest in the wider Humber region, along with an awareness of local and national politics, will be key to success in this role.
A good working knowledge of spread sheets and account management is essential, as is the ability to support the creation, planning and running of meetings, events and conferences.
You’ll need a full UK driving licence and the use of a car.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Membership, Marketing and Policy Support Officer
PURPOSE OF JOB: To provide wide-ranging support to the Membership and Policy departments in the management and recruitment of Members and the delivery/running of a wide range of events and policy meetings.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To develop a sound working knowledge of all Chamber activities and to assist in relevant service delivery.
- To work principally in the Chamber’s Hull office, but with the flexibility of hybrid working at the Group Chief Executive/Managing Director’s discretion.
- To support the Managing Director and Membership and Marketing Manager in recruiting, registering and resigning members, answering queries and sending out relevant information in a professional manner as required.
- To retain in membership existing companies by raising awareness and use of membership and business services.
- Support the Managing Director, the Chamber’s Policy Executive and Membership Department in delivering and marketing Chamber events and meetings as and when required, including occasional evening working.
- To work with the Managing Director and Membership and Marketing Manager to arrange events, meetings, appointments and attend to visitors as part of the membership, policy and communications operations including organising rooms and catering as required and taking the minutes of some meetings.
- To support the delivery and development of the Chamber’s Marketing & Communications Strategy.
- To support the Managing Director and Membership and Marketing Manager in organising Chamber events and activities, which promote and retain Chamber membership, including its various databases of contacts.
- Help to raise awareness among Chamber Members of our affinity partner schemes with AXA, Westfield Health, the AA and Quest, to encourage them to take up and benefit from the schemes/services.
- To assist with all marketing activities, including the creation of printed and electronic marketing materials and campaigns through email and social media platforms.
- To support the Managing Director and Membership and Marketing Manager with the preparation of the Quarterly Economic Survey, members’ annual questionnaire and annual BCC Benchmarking, plus any other items relevant to the Chamber.
- To assist the Managing Director and Membership and Marketing Manager with the production of the Chamber’s Business Intelligence Magazine, Diary, Calendar and all other publications as and when required.
- To ensure the Chamber’s Health and Safety Policy is fully implemented by accepting personal responsibility for one’s own Health and Safety in accordance with Company requirements.
- To carry out any duties required on a day-to-day basis for the efficient operation of the Chamber of Commerce.
