Myos House marks five years with community garden celebration

Residents, colleagues, and partners are set to come together on Thursday 30 July to celebrate five years of Myos House, Ongo’s dementia care scheme, with a birthday garden party.
Taking place from 2pm to 4pm, the event will be held at their building on Warwick Road, Scunthorpe, bringing the community together to mark the milestone.
Opened in 2021, it has 25 two-bedroom apartments and purpose-built communal spaces with carefully considered design and interior features.
Residents enjoy the freedom of independent living, with skilled staff on hand to provide tailored care packages if needed, ensuring safety, companionship and peace of mind.
The celebration will give guests the opportunity to reflect on the scheme’s journey and see first-hand the impact it has had over the past five years.
The afternoon will be filled with entertainment and activities for all ages. Highlights include a performance from the Starlight Arts Choir, traditional garden games such as hook-a-duck, and a visit from Little Goslings Nursery.
Guests will also be able to enjoy cakes and refreshments.
A special memory board will be on display, celebrating both past and present tenants, sharing stories and moments that have shaped the Myos House community.
Anita Catley, Ongo’s Dementia Scheme Officer said: “Myos House is more than just a place to live, it’s a place to connect with others, and get the right care and support to live life independently for as long as possible.
“This celebration is about recognising the difference it has made and thanking everyone who has been part of its journey.”
