Iraq - New Commercial Invoice Requirements

The Iraqi Commercial Attaché in London would like to inform all exporters of new requirements for the legalisation of commercial invoices. To ensure smooth financial transfers and customs clearance, invoices must include the following details:
1. Invoice date and number
2. Payment terms
3. Shipping terms
4. Invoice amount and currency
5. Global customs (HS) code (minimum six digits)
6. Importer and exporter addresses
7. Detailed description of the goods
8. Country of origin
9. Trademark
10. Quantity and unit of measurement
11. Unit price and total price
For approval, companies may submit either:
• The final commercial invoice, or
• The primary invoice plus the sales contract (the final invoice must reflect all details from the
primary invoice).
Please note that these requirements will apply to all invoices submitted from 1 November 2025.
