ReVolt Energy is a solar panel end-of-life management company recovering and recycling solar infrastructure across the United Kingdom and the United States. Using patented laser delamination technology, ReVolt recovers up to 99% of the materials in an end-of-life panel at up to 99.9% purity, returning aluminium, silicon, silver, copper and high-grade glass to manufacturing supply chains.
It is the first solar recycler approved by both the UK Environment Agency and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and the only one to pay asset owners a revenue share on the materials recovered, turning decommissioning from a disposal cost into a source of income.
ReVolt's UK operations are based at Flixborough, North Lincolnshire, on the south bank of the Humber and within the region's established industrial and metallurgical cluster.
The location was chosen deliberately. Flixborough sits at the intersection of three things ReVolt needs: the UK's main hub for metals processing and metallurgical expertise, giving direct access to the industrial supply chains that will take the recovered materials; established Humber logistics infrastructure, with Immingham and the wharf network providing sea and river access for inbound panel volumes from across the UK and Northern Europe; and a regional labour market already skilled in heavy process industry, engineering and materials handling.
The site holds Environment Agency approval for solar panel recycling and has capacity to receive 40,000 modules every year. From its 20,000 sq. ft. secured site in Flixborough, ReVolt serves solar installers, developers, utilities and waste management companies across the UK, and can recycle panels from across Northern Europe.
ReVolt is scaling the Flixborough operation as UK decommissioning volumes grow, building out capacity to handle the wave of panels reaching end-of-life through the late 2020s. The company is planning on getting a permit to process 2,000,000 panels a year, which will make ReVolt the European leader in solar recycling. The company is building its own proprietary laser-enabled recycling machines, engineered so that the same standards apply in the UK and the US.
Following the close of an oversubscribed first investment round in May 2026, ReVolt is fast-tracking R&D on its robotics enabled laser delamination process to increase throughput, targeting 80,000 panels per year per processing line.
ReVolt is in discussions to expand to more than ten countries by 2030, with the longer-term ambition of operational hubs on every continent by the end of the decade. The Flixborough site is the anchor for that European growth.
A core part of the plan is keeping recovered critical minerals in the UK economy, supplying domestic manufacturers rather than exporting material for reprocessing, and reducing reliance on imported virgin material.
