Trojan Hull Seahawks to Honour the Fallen with Special Remembrance Game and Parade

Trojan Hull Seahawks to Honour the Fallen with Special Remembrance Game and Parade

ONE of the most poignant fixtures in the Seahawks' calendar, the annual Remembrance Game brings together players, supporters, veterans, serving military personnel and the wider Hull community for an evening of reflection, respect and remembrance.

Ahead of face-off, the ice will become the setting for a moving ceremonial parade, providing an opportunity for everyone in attendance to unite in honouring those who have served, those who continue to serve, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice in conflicts around the world.

The pre-game ceremony will form the centrepiece of the evening, with the traditional Remembrance parade offering a powerful reminder of the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by generations of servicemen and women.

As a mark of respect, doors to the arena will temporarily close during the parade, allowing the ceremony to take place without interruption. Supporters are therefore encouraged to arrive early and take their seats ahead of the proceedings.

Special Remembrance Jerseys to Support Armed Forces Charities

To mark the occasion, the Seahawks will take to the ice wearing specially designed, limited-edition Remembrance jerseys. The jerseys have become an important part of the club's Remembrance tradition, providing a lasting connection between supporters, the team and the significance of the occasion.

The limited-edition jerseys will be worn by players during the fixture before being raffled online through Raffall, giving supporters the opportunity to own a special piece of Seahawks history while raising funds for Armed Forces charities. A donation from the raffle proceeds will support selected charities and causes, with beneficiaries to be confirmed shortly in consultation with the Armed Forces contingent.

A Proud City United in Remembrance

Hull has a long and proud military and maritime heritage, with generations of local families having served in the Armed Forces. The Seahawks' annual Remembrance fixture provides an opportunity for the city's ice hockey community to come together and recognise that shared history.

While the evening will feature the excitement of National Ice Hockey League action as the Seahawks face Romford Raiders, the occasion represents something much greater than the result on the ice.

Callum Gladding, Operations & Commercial Manager commented “Our annual Remembrance Parade is always one of the most special and moving occasions in the Trojan Hull Seahawks calendar. It provides an opportunity for everyone connected with the club, from our players and staff to our fantastic supporters, to come together and pay their respects to the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.

We are incredibly proud of the fantastic support we receive from our Armed Forces community, and it is a privilege to honour them in such a meaningful way each year.

A special thank you must go to Stu O’Hagan and Mick Suggitt for their continued dedication, hard work and support in helping make this occasion so memorable. Their efforts are hugely appreciated by everyone at the club, and we are extremely proud to play our part in supporting an incredible cause.”

It is an opportunity for the club, its supporters and the wider community to demonstrate their gratitude, remember those who have lost their lives in service and show continued support for veterans and serving personnel.

The club hopes to see Hull Ice Arena filled with supporters for what promises to be a memorable and meaningful evening, combining the passion of ice hockey with a collective moment of reflection.
