The Humber on the Rise: Festival of Energy Highlights Region’s Growing Momentum

Speakers on stage at Hull Truck Theatre
ORGANISED by Chamber Member Energy Voice and its sister brand E-FWD, the two-day event featured a live podcast recording and a “Momentum Morning,” both held at a packed Hull Truck Theatre. The festival brought together influential voices from across the UK’s energy sector to discuss the Humber’s expanding role in the national transition to net zero.
Proceedings began on Wednesday evening with Energy Voice Live with Nexos, where a panel explored the breadth of opportunities ahead for the Humber — from large-scale industrial investment to the finer points of hydrogen policy. Hosted by Energy Voice’s Jessica Davies, the lively discussion was followed by an engaging audience Q&A and networking session in the theatre foyer.
Thursday’s Momentum Morning, hosted by E-FWD, built on those themes with a forward-looking conversation on the future of energy innovation and policy. The session featured high-level government representation, including Chris Stark, alongside local leaders who shared their perspectives on driving growth and collaboration across the region.
Attendees praised the festival for helping to “shine a spotlight on the region,” highlighting the Humber’s strategic importance in the UK’s clean energy transition.
