Team flying high after winning prestigious award

Team flying high after winning prestigious award

Polly Sowden (centre) and the team from Sowden & Sowden celebrate winning the Team Impact (>11 People) Award.

AS it nears the end of its 40th year, Sowden & Sowden are riding high after winning the Team Impact (>11 People) award at this year’s People in Business (PIB) Awards.

Sowdens fought off tough competition in their category to claim one of the top prizes at the ceremony, which recognises progressive and inspiring businesses that stay ahead of the curve.

Sowdens’ long history is one of its USPs and the clients that have stayed with them for decades, as well as a formidable word of mouth reputation and experience, are things that the newer crop of agencies cannot hope to match.

For Sowdens, the message is very much ‘life begins at 40’ – and as the agency looks ahead to the next four decades, it wanted to recognise the amazing team who play an instrumental role within the business and continually exceed expectations every day.

Being crowned winners at PIB continues Sowdens’ impressive and successful year to date. The agency was also considered as one of the Best Small Digital Agencies of the year at the Northern Digital Awards, but they have now gone one step further. Winning the Team Impact (>11 People) award is worthy recognition for a company that continually deliver exceptional results for clients, while cementing its own position as a go-to digital creative marketing agency.

Sowdens’ success is even more notable considering that a total of around 150 nominations were sent in across all categories from high-performing companies in a wide range of sectors. An incredible night of success was also complemented by a special mention for Sowdens’ Senior Account Manager, Beth Gray. Following a fantastic year, she was given an honorary shout-out from the judges in the ‘Above and Beyond’ category, which raises the profile of talented, hardworking and dynamic individuals in the region.

One of the event organisers, Elly Taylor, was full of praise for the high quality of Sowdens’ submission:

“We were over the moon this year to receive so many submissions from a range of sectors and business sizes. The calibre was the best we’ve seen in the four years of the awards and the judges were especially impressed with the quality of submissions.

“The Sowden & Sowden nomination stood out as it was fun, succinct, and the narrative made the judges feel like they truly got to know the agency’s employees, ethos, and goals. Alongside that, the incredible achievements of Sowden & Sowden made them a worthy winner.”

Given the calibre of other companies that were shortlisted, Sowdens’ Co-Owner and Managing Director, Polly Sowden, was full of admiration for her award-winning team:

“Whatever the project, whatever the challenge, our people always pull together to make a game-changing impact for our clients. Every single day, I’m proud to see our team go above and beyond to find creative solutions and deliver exceptional results.

“It was great to hear Beth get a mention and we had an unforgettable evening with the team. Congratulations to all the other award winners, and thank you to category sponsors Cobus Communications, and everyone who helped to organise such a memorable event.”
