THE leading transport and logistics company, headquartered in Hessle near Hull, has promoted Carl Andrew to the role.

Mr Andrew, 52, first joined the well-known family business as an office junior in 1990, and has served as logistics director for more than a decade.

His new role follows the retirement of former managing director Colin Moody, whose career with Neill & Brown spanned more than 40 years.

CEO Peter Brown said: “We have always believed in nurturing home-grown talent and recognising people’s hard work and dedication.

“Carl will keep the business firmly on track and is the right person to continue our legacy, developing our people, culture and values that set us apart.

“He has amassed huge knowledge over his career and is widely liked and respected.”

Mr Brown, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Hull & East Yorkshire Business Awards in November, added: “On behalf of all staff, I want to thank Colin for his outstanding contribution and wish him a very happy retirement.”

Speaking about his new role, Mr Andrew said the increasingly complex logistics landscape presented exciting opportunities, and he was looking forward to developing new areas of business while staying true to the firm’s family business character.

“We are a fantastic team at Neill & Brown, and I feel honoured to be chosen to help drive the company forward. I would like to thank Colin for his mentorship and Peter for putting his faith in me and for his huge support,” he said.

Neill & Brown began in Hull in 1917 and employs around 150 staff across its strategic sites. It exports and imports goods by road, rail, sea and air worldwide and has extensive warehousing capabilities. The business continues to invest in its facilities, fleet and services to support customers across the region and beyond.
