Local Architecture Firm Showcases The Humber Region at Healthcare Facilities Symposium & Expo 2025 in San Diego, CA

Local Architecture Firm Showcases The Humber Region at Healthcare Facilities Symposium & Expo 2025 in San Diego, CA

One of ACA’s award-winning projects the Community Diagnostic Centre in Scunthorpe.

QUANTUM Architecture integrates spatial psychology, biometric understanding, natural materials and multi-sensory design to shape spaces that actively promote emotional balance, comfort and recovery. The concept challenges conventional architectural norms, positioning design not just as a physical construct, but as an interactive system that engages the body and mind.

“We believe architecture can do more than just house people and services; it can engage the human spirit,” said Alex Caruso.  “Through Quantum Architecture, we aim to make spaces that truly support healing, connection and wellbeing.”

During his presentation, Alex made a point of championing the Humber region, using it as a model for innovative healthcare design in the UK. He showcased ACA’s award-winning projects including the Allam Diabetes Centre at Hull Royal Infirmary and the Community Diagnostic Centre in Scunthorpe, both of which embody the principles of Quantum Architecture, integrating light, nature and spatial flow to reduce stress and enhance the patient’s experience.

The Humber region’s progressive approach to healthcare design served as a key example of how local investment and architectural innovation can have global resonance. Alex emphasized that such projects demonstrate the UK’s growing leadership in human-centred healthcare environments.

ACA is now embedding Quantum Architecture principles across its future projects, inviting collaboration with partners across architecture, healthcare and wellbeing sectors to further research and develop this paradigm.
