THE expert legal insight provided through the partnership with Myton Law will elevate its marine and transit claims proposition, says DR&P.

Marine and transit insurance is one of DR&P’s key market specialisms.  A family of brokers, DR&P has 34 UK offices and is one of the UK’s top 100 independent insurance brokers.

DR&P’s Mark Taylor, Group Claims Executive Manager, explains, “For more complex claims, our clients now have access to specialist legal advice delivered by a law firm with a deep understanding of how the insurance industry operates.  This partnership will provide clients with robust legal insight quickly.”

Myton Law is a firm of specialist lawyers covering insurance relating to international trade, sale & purchase of goods, shipping, rail, logistics, renewables, ports, real estate and commercial and transactional work.  Acting for underwriters, insureds and brokers, Myton Law advises on marine claims, including cargo, hull and machinery, P&I; non-marine, including goods in transit, warehousing and commercial property; and other matters such as insurance fraud, policy wording and broker’s rights and obligations.

The service agreement adds value to DR&P’s claims process.  Where required, clients will have access to initial legal guidance on policy interpretation, liability, quantum and strategy and receive written assessments within 3-5 days of instruction to help progress claims and facilitate better and faster outcomes.

Commenting John Habergham of Myton Law said, “We have worked with David Roberts & Partners to resolve a number of commercial insurance disputes and are pleased to extend that relationship via a more formal agreement through which we look forward to giving their clients swift, practical, commercially minded advice.”

All referrals to Myton Law will be channelled through the DR&P Claims Team.
