Firm welcomes senior medical negligence solicitor to Grimsby team

Nicola Evans - clinical negligence specialist.

A SOLICITOR specialising in clinical negligence work is joining regional law firm, Bridge McFarland.

Nicola Evans has joined the firm’s Grimsby office as a Senior Solicitor. In her new role Nicola will focus on supporting the victims of medical negligence. Nicola’s specialism is in complex claims involving serious injuries and fatalities.

She has a wealth of experience in advising and supporting bereaved families and supporting parents of brain injured children as a result of birth trauma and has acted on a number of successful litigated claims.

Nicola started her legal career as a Paralegal at Stamp Jackson & Procter Limited in Hull; she worked there for 14 years, undertaking her law degree through the Open University while working full time. After Nicola completed her law degree she commenced her training contract and studied the Legal Practice Course part time alongside her full time legal position.

Upon qualification in 2012 she joined Hudgell Solicitors as a Solicitor in the Clinical Negligence Department. More than six years later she is moving to join Bridge McFarland Solicitors as a Senior Solicitor in their Grimsby Offices.

Nicola describes her approach “my first priority at the start of every clinical negligence claim is to ensure I provide support to my clients and understands their objectives from the outset. Clinical negligence claims are inherently complex in nature and can sometimes take several years to reach a conclusion.”

“My proudest professional achievement has to be securing compensation to provide financial support to a family of seven children who lost their mother to cervical cancer which would have been curable, had an opportunity to diagnose not been missed.  Whilst no amount of money would replace a young mother the money secured helped to provide the grandmother with the support she required to care for the young family.”

Ian Sprakes, Head of Clinical Negligence at Bridge McFarland, said “We are absolutely delighted that Nicola has chosen this firm for the next stage of her career, I know she will be a great addition to our team.”

Danielle Barney heads the Clinical Negligence team in Grimsby. “Nicola’s expertise will enhance the quality of services offered by the medical negligence department in Grimsby and we are thrilled to have her joining us.”
