Coach days away return after coronavirus break

Coach days away return after coronavirus break

Visit Whitby with ‘buy one seat, get one half price’

EAST YORKSHIRE COACHES will be restarting its popular days away by coach, with a selection of trips running throughout October.

The company’s programme of day trips and holidays, which usually includes more than 200 trips a year from the Hull area, was suspended in March because of coronavirus lockdown restrictions.

As a message of thanks to customers, trips will include a ‘buy one seat, get one half price’ offer for those travelling in their household or bubble.

Ben Gilligan, Area Director of East Yorkshire, said: “We are pleased to see the return of day trips, allowing our customers to come back and enjoy fantastic days out.

“After a quiet summer, our drivers are really looking forward to welcoming people on board again, with these trips giving a glimmer of hope for the future of coach travel.”

Trips planned for October include Whitby, Meadowhall, Lincoln and Skegness.  There are also days out to some of the most popular markets across the north of England.  Destinations have been chosen carefully to ensure social distancing is possible.

A full range of measures have been put in place to keep customers safe when travelling on the coach, including enhanced coach cleaning, seating plans which ensure social distancing and face coverings being required for the full journey.

Passengers are also reminded not to travel if unwell and to adhere to government advice on keeping distance from those not in the same household or bubble.

Should any local lockdown regulations at destinations, or in Hull and the East Riding, result in the cancellation of trips, passengers will be given a full refund.

Ben Gilligan continued: “We have been open and honest with customers throughout the summer, giving notice of cancellations as early as possible and promptly issuing refunds for cancelled trips.

“These October trips are the first step to building up to our usual programme, with plans being developed for our 2021 holidays programme.”

Days away pick up passengers across the Hull area, including Hull, Cottingham, Beverley and Elloughton.  Passengers can find a list of all the trips and coronavirus safety information on the East Yorkshire Coaches website at www.eastyorkshirecoaches.co.uk
