Chorizo cocktails to spice up the Bank Holiday at 1884 Wine & Tapas Bar

Chorizo cocktails to spice up the Bank Holiday at 1884 Wine & Tapas Bar

AN award-winning restaurant will join forces with a quirky cocktail business from Beverley to present a piano duet with a difference.

1884 Wine & Tapas Bar will partner with Piano Bar Events to offer tapas themed cocktails as they shake up the Bank Holiday weekend.

The restaurant hosts regular wine and champagne evenings, with exotic drinks expertly paired with the Mediterranean flavours flowing from the kitchen. Cocktails are also a big part of the 1884 Wine & Tapas Bar offer, but not like this…

Sam Rumsby of Piano Bar Events has curated a special menu which is designed to complement the dishes. Top of the bill is “Cured in New York”, which features chorizo-infused Woodford Rye Whiskey and even a dehydrated chorizo wheel. All the drinks will be served from an upcycled piano which is the centrepiece of the performance.

Deborah Spicer, Director of 1884 Wine & Tapas Bar, said: “We’re building a good reputation for providing events and entertainment which bring a bit of variety and which feature drinks designed to showcase our menus, and the Piano Bar is different again.

“We know from experience there will be a few surprises. Obviously wine works very well with tapas, and our regular cocktail menus have always been popular – but we’ve never put chorizo in them before!”

Piano Bar Events was launched more than two years ago by Sam and his family after they came across a piano which was damaged beyond repair and needed a new lease of life.

He said: “We are committed to recycling and protecting the environment so we took the piano and turned it into a bar. Sadly you won’t get a tune out of it any more but it does enable us to create some great cocktails which bring something different to any special occasion”.

The business, which operates throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, is a real family affair. Sam and his sister Charlotte shake up and serve the drinks and dad Jim is responsible for building bespoke bars for events which include weddings, hen parties and corporate gatherings.

Sam added: “We look to create a premium cocktail bar experience for our guests within their event and our hope is to expand our offering to provide more quirky and one-off options across the UK.”

Diners at 1884 Wine & Tapas Bar can enjoy the results on Friday and Saturday evening this week and can book online at www.1884wineandtapasbar.co.uk or by calling 01482 216306.
