Choose your leader – and win a breakfast to remember at The Deep!

TOP tourist attraction and business destination The Deep is once again making a splash during Humber Business Week by offering a spectacular prize.

Recognising that there’s more to success in business than whether you are a big fish or a minnow, The Deep is inviting you to select the best leader from four of its star exhibits.

Biz Week delegates are being challenged to decide which creature shows the best leadership qualities – jellyfish, penguin, shark or turtle – and why! The best response will win the fantastic prize of breakfast at The Deep with the penguins or turtles, followed by use of a meeting space at The Deep Business Centre.

The competition will run all day on Thursday 8 June, when The Deep hosts one of the Biz Week highlights with an event by the Hull Business Women’s Breakfast Club (HBBC) which looks at “Unlocking Your Potential: The Hidden Truth.”

Katy Duke, recently appointed as The Deep’s new Chief Executive, will welcome guests who will then hear from Martin Johnson, CEO of Trans 2 Performance, and Carolyn Woolway, Head of Human Resources at Siemens in Hull.

Freya Cross, Business and Corporate Manager at The Deep, said: “The Deep is a big supporter of Biz Week and plays a significant part in the region’s business community year-round as a major contributor to the tourist economy, a venue for high quality business events and a home to more than 40 businesses employing over 200 people.

“Trans2 Performance is based in The Deep Business Centre and specialises in motivational speaking events, management and leadership courses including training in a range of business disciplines. Together with HBBC member Carolyn Woolway from Siemens, Martin Johnson from Trans2 will present some key messages about how to unlock your potential.

“Our competition complements that by highlighting another important business attribute – leadership – but in a light-hearted way! The prize is perfect for a business gathering. Our penguin breakfasts are very popular and we can now offer the alternative of turtles, followed by use of the facilities at The Deep Business Centre for a more formal meeting.”

Jan Brumby, Chief Executive of For Entrepreneurs Only, won the prize during Biz Week 2016. She said: “FEO had a wonderful breakfast with the penguins – what a unique way to start the day. A delicious continental breakfast as close as you can get to the penguins – and they were very active at such an early hour!

“The prize included a question and answer session with one of the aquarists, which was very interesting, and we then moved across to the deep business centre boardroom for a meeting and were looked after very well – with lunch and refreshments included.”

Entry to the competition is via the official Biz Week app, which can be downloaded to your mobile phone or tablet by searching Humber Business Week on The App Store or Google Play Store.
