Accountancy firm chairman embarks on epic bike ride to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK.

MIKE BECKETT, chairman of regional accountancy firm Forrester Boyd is to take on the epic Grand Départ Classic on 1 July 2022 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Grand Départ Classic will involve riding the first road stage of the 2022 Tour de France. Mike will be riding the 183 km route the day before for professionals. With a time limit for completing the course of 12 hours, this will definitely be a ride of endurance, sweat and tears.

Speaking of the challenge, Mike said “I decided to sign up to this challenge as part of the One Hull Of A Ride team who took part in the Grand Départ Classic in 2019 in Brussels. They met some very inspirational riders, some of whom are suffering with Prostate Cancer.

As a keen cyclist, I would like to push myself, maybe to my limits, to help fundraise for this amazing charity, to help raise awareness of Prostate Cancer and to help save men’s lives.”

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. According to the charity, every hour, one man dies from prostate cancer, and 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime.

Mike will be embarking upon this challenge with a number of other local business leaders from some of the top regional professional service firms.
