University looking for new Council member
The University of Hull is seeking a new Lay Member for its Council.
The Council of the University of Hull is the governing body and is responsible for the University’s strategic direction. It comprises 23 members, more than half of whom are lay members drawn from a wide variety of private and public sector organisations.
The role of a lay member is similar to that of the non-executive director of a company. It is voluntary and unpaid; expenses may be claimed. Council members meet four times a year at the University, attend the annual away day and serve on Council committees.
The University is particularly seeking a potential member with a business background combined with knowledge of or experience in the National Health Service.
